Ariane Berckmoes and Amandine Rouvroy, leading IT leadies at Federale Verzekering-Assurance

Getting nominated for a prestigious prize is always a rewarding experience, whether you win the actual prize or not. That’s why we are especially delighted that a pioneering project at one of our customers, Federale Verzekering-Assurance, has been shortlisted for this year’s Computable Awards. All the more so since Computable is presenting the prize for the first time for the best IT project in the Belgian enterprise market.

With more than a century’s worth of experience in the insurance industry in Belgium, clearly Federale Verzekering-Assurance is not just any customer. The insurance pioneer has far more than its rich past to capitalise on, however. It is also looking firmly towards the future in order to grow and improve its business. And as the nominated IT project proves, at LACO we have the knowledge and experience to help Federale Verzekering-Assurance (or any insurer, for that matter) to move into that future – much quicker than expected!

Pioneering spirit

Continuing in that pioneering spirit, Federale Verzekering-Assurance can safely claim to be among the first in its industry in Belgium to combine SAS Viya, the latest extension of the SAS Analytics Platform, with Microsoft Azure. More importantly, however, having successfully migrated its data and analytics activities to that modern cloud infrastructure, the insurance company is now able to exploit the full potential of cloud analytics.

The advantages of having our data analytics fully in the cloud are that we can bring our data much closer to our end users at the moments that really matter. We can manage utilization peaks much better and we have been able to bring business and IT closer together in managing our day-to-day data

Added business value

“The new solution has really improved the way we do business”, says Ariane. It is that business claim, we suppose, which has also struck a chord with the editors and expert jury of the IT business publication platform Computable. It clearly managed to impress them enough to add the project to their list of finalists for the awards category ‘IT Project of the Year in Enterprise Market’.

Cast your vote!

Computable will announce the winner of this particular award, along with all the other awards winners, during the Cybersec Europe trade fair in Brussels on Thursday, May 12. But since the public gets the final and therefore decisive vote on this award, why not cast your vote as well?

You have until Sunday, April 17, to give our project at Federale Verzekering-Assurance that final push.
